I just published Qickstart package as you asked, it works in subdirectoryes(like mysite.com/test/) as well, except some modules(image path doesn't work in subdirs).
Quickstart package created for better understanding the template setting and options.
This is the preliminary release because the template is still BETA, and it is a full copy of existing demo.
Installation - unzip the files and run installation(mysite.com, test.mysite.com, mysite.com/test/, localhost).
Note: Be aware, this package is different from standard Joomla! installation, on 3rd step change login/password or DB prefix. If you forgot to do it use these: Login - admin
Password - demo
then you can change them
